Anatomy of the 1984 Honda NSR500

Introduced for the 1984 season, the NSR500 followed on from the NS500 triple that Freddie Spencer won the ‘83 500GP championship.

The V4 two-stroke had a unique design with the fuel-tank placed underneath the engine and the expansion chambers flowing over the top. Although it was plagued with chassis issues in its first year, the next evolution of the NSR went on to win the 1985 title with Spencer, setting course for a legacy of 10 championships and over 100 wins.
